Hi, I’m Kirsten.

I began my journey in psychology back in 2003, when I embarked on several psychology courses at the undergraduate level and fell head over heels in love. Since then, I have completed a Master’s degree from the University of Alberta, a PhD from the University of Calgary, and my doctoral residency in Edmonton through the Edmonton Clinical Consortium (APPIC). Through this training, I have worked in various in-patient and out-patient mental health facilities including a university counselling centre (U of A Clinical Services), an inner-city community mental health program (Sheldon Chumir Health Centre), the Edmonton Eating Disorder Program (UAH), and an in-patient unit for young adults (Alberta Hospital Edmonton). Together, this experience has taught me the immense value in building relationships and remaining client-centred in the process.

As someone who believes in authenticity and bringing my whole self to the work that I do, I would also like you to know that I am a proud mama, I have a deep love for cats, I am obsessed with all varieties of sushi, and I feel most like myself when I am in the great outdoors - my sanctuary.
